When your Naples address is Bay Colony, having the perfect home is all but a requirement. BCB Homes’ complete remodel of a condominium with the help of veteran designers from Collins & DuPont was a makeover of epic proportions, and it had to measure up.
The renovation at The Biltmore at Bay Colony was at the request of new owners who wanted to update the interior to be more suited as a vacation home for the whole family.
BCB Homes Vice President Greg Brisson and his team had 30 years of experience and expertise, including the knowledge needed to merge technology and traditional touches, to fortify their approach to the challenge.
The result: a home that, despite its significant size and cutting-edge features, is inviting and warm, as welcoming and comfortable for a crowd as it is for an intimate gathering. The project was not without its headaches, however, as condominium renovations almost always involve working under constraints of existing structure and duct work, plumbing and similar issues. But the BCB Homes team was ready.
His favorite aspect of this particular makeover was what he calls the design team’s creativity and ingenuity in rearranging the master bathroom, integrating the living room and bar and installing custom cabinetry and furnishings.
Mr. Brisson’s first suggestion for a condominium owner who wants to remodel: Be mindful of construction time frames and deadlines. “Stay ahead of the time frames stipulated in the building’s rules and regulations,” he advises.
And for any owner — condo or single-family home — and any remodel — one room or whole house — he stresses the importance of finding the right designer and general contractor.
