BCB Homes Models Receive the Prestigious Aurora Award For Interior Design

Posted on July 30, 2010

Two of BCB Homes models were awarded Aurora Awards for Best Interior Design during the Annual Industry Gala at the 2010 Southeast Building Conference/Green Building Show in Orlando. BCB Homes won for two of their entries: The Montelena Model in Mediterra and The Captain’s Quarters in Port Royal. It also won the prestigious Graud Aurora Award for The Captain’s Quarters in Port Royal!

Home building professionals in a 12-state southeast region plus the Caribbean received nationally recognized AURORA Awards for new home construction, remodeling, commercial/mixed use and design excellence. The awards honor builders, designers, architects and other industry professionals from Texas to Virginia.

“The AURORA Awards are the Grammy’s of the home building profession,” said Patti Guthrie of Marc-Michaels Interior Design, Winter Park, FL and 2010 AURORA Award Chair. “The AURORA symbolizes tremendous achievement, honor and distinction among building industry professionals.”

Both of these homes were designed and built in 2009. Both homes were well received by those who had the opportunity to view them and sold very quickly. The Captain’s Quarters sold three weeks prior to the completion of the construction and the Montelena Model sold just 2 months after being placed on the market. Both homes awarded BCB Homes with the opportunity to build different versions of the home with other land owners.

The Interior Designer, Godfrey Design Consultants, was awarded with these Aurora Awards last Saturday night, and they did a tremendous job designing the interior spaces and the interior detailing of the ceilings, flooring, colors and fabrics. It is a beautiful home and the new home owners could not be happier with their new home.

The AURORA Awards drew over 220 entries which includes 26 new companies. Leading industry professionals judged the contenders, selecting the best in new home construction and design in the southeast. Of the 125 AURORA Award winners, there were:

  • 28 Grand winners,
  • 9 Best in State winners,
  • 1 Golden Award winner.
