Joe Smallwood started BCB Homes with a bang. His first home with his new company was a 10,000-square-foot house in Port Royal.
“So we came out of the gates strong,” said Smallwood, CEO of BCB Homes.
Now BCB is celebrating its 25th year in Southwest Florida, and they are still coming on strong. The company has been the first to use many products that are now common in homes. They have moved seamlessly with the changes in the industry and with the demands of their clients. Their custom homes have won so many awards that the trophies fill two huge bookcases and spill onto many tables in their office.
While they still build mansions in Port Royal, Smallwood said that is just part of what BCB has done the past quarter of a century.
“We did it the opposite way,” Smallwood explained. “We started in Port Royal and on the beach and in Bay Colony in Pelican Bay. Our first homes were quite large.”
